Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)
Please feel free to view our latest CIW reports.
Here are some of the good things the reports have to say about Kingfisher House:
- Well-being – “Children have a voice and their needs and wishes are listened to. They feel happy in an environment where they are safe and with others with whom they have formed positive relationships. Children interact well and enjoy their free play opportunities. They are supported to learn and develop their independence through the resources and routines in place. ”
- Care and Development- “Staff implement effective policies and procedures to support them in keeping children healthy and safe. They interact well with the children but the way some observations are recorded should be reviewed to ensure staff can be more focused on the children.”

- Environment – “Leaders provide a safe environment where staff effectively implement procedures to reduce any risks identified. The environment is suitable for the different ages of children and outdoors is a high priority.”
- Leadership and Management – “Leaders are effective in their management of the service but improvements could be made to the statement of purpose. Leaders complete regular reviews which allow them to plan and make positive improvements. Leaders manage staff well and ensure they are clear about their roles and responsibilities. They develop effective partnerships that support the care they provide. “
